With home heating bills looming, the state hopes to increase the availability of heating grants by loosening guidelines and increasing grant amounts of the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program.

PIERRE Eighty-five K-12 school districts are the recipients of grants totaling $548,000 from the South Dakota Department of Health to combat tobacco use. The funding is aimed at helping schools improve and promote tobacco control.
