Pitching it as part economic stimulus, property tax relief and a way to keep people from being stuck on clogged roads, Gov. Jon S. Corzine announced $78.75 million worth of transportation grants to 372 New Jersey municipalities Friday.

State grants will be going to the following towns for the specified road improvement projects:

The value of increased grants has been called into question, as home buyers have been accused of faking contracts to claim a bigger first home owners grant.

Meyer Memorial Trust has awarded more than $8.6 million in grants and program-related investments to nonprofit organizations. More than $104,000 will come to South Coast organizations.
